Wearing: Peplum skirt

Flashing back to when it was somewhat doable to wear long sleeves, here is an outfit that I've - gasp - forgotten to post. I went ahead and put a peplum on my skirt (well I didn't but somebody did), so a skirt on my skirt, and wore this rad cut-out sweatshirt that looks like a blouse so I will call it a blouse. Can't wait to wear it all through fall. The diamond necklace is real, just kidding. It's actually missing a rhinestone (can you tell?).

Sweatshirt: No label (similar here, on sale!)
Peplum skirt: Target (similar style here)
Booties: Bakers
Diamond necklace: Forever 21 (love this one)
Gold necklace: Forever 21 (old)

Flat-footed

For your fetish, here's a hodgepodge of fall flats for this hot-ass Shoesday. Lots of pointy toes, metallic, a leopard, a dark brown oxford (craving that right now), a crazy lace-up. A tassel, duh. The coveted Jenni Kayne mule. Even a gym shoe.

Wearing: Potential

I had some intimate time with my closet recently and tried on almost everything I own in every combination. Sometimes my insatiable shopping hunger is filled by just digging around in my own clothes. And because the point of this blog is not only to write about what I've worn, but also about what I might wear, this outfit was born.

It had major potential for last Saturday night but I ended up wearing the top but with a skirt instead due to the incessant rain. Sigh.

Then these Dolce Vita sandals came into my life, which I scored at my local Crossroads for 25 bucks, and I haven't been the same since. Last season's sandals for some, this season's sandal for me.

Top: H&M (try this one)
Drawstring pants: Forever 21
Shoes: Dolce Vita sandals (similar here)
Clutch: H&M (old)

Fall forecast: Light denim

I'm seeing lots of light denim in the future, particularly the future that is Fall 2012. Classic dyed blue jeans are back for a second wind and in for a major comeback.  I'm loving them with easy layers, long coats, booties, super stilettos (ho), distressed, cropped, slouchy, tight. All of it is lookin' mighty fine.

I don't think dark denim is going anywhere, but a lighter shade is worth picking up for the upcoming season.  Asos, Levi's, Forever 21, Acne and Zara offer some cute pairs.

Shoesday

I give you the D'Orsay flat by genius designer Jenni Kayne. I'm always looking for an interesting flat and these mules are just the answer. I'm pining for them and their unusual shape.

If you're rich, please feel free to click here for purchasing and then also feel free to buy me a pair. Size 8. In the mean time, I'll search for a cheaper alternative and keep you guys posted.
