Wearing: Gray matter

I never really venture into wide leg pants, but I've had these forever and they deserve more wear time. And yes, the wrinkles are on purpose.

I like the gray on gray look. To make the outfit not, like, so gray, I added my dead teddy bear vest (a sibling of this vest) and a black skinny belt.

Wanting: Rosy goldness

Ring around the rosy, pocket full of this stuff.

Rose gold: the new neutral. Expand your golden horizon with a fresh take on gold. It's not just for old man watches in South Florida. It's for shoes, cuffs, sunnies, seriously expensive Lanvin pendants.

2. Oversized rose gold watch: Michael Kors
3. Round sunglasses: La Garconne
4. Cuff: Maison Martin Margiello via Net-A-Porter
5. Metallic oxfords: Maison Martin Margiello via Saks Fifth Avenue

Wearing: Loudness

HELLO.

I did it. I mixed loud patterns and I have to say: I don't hate it. Sometimes clashing like this can go real wrong and real right. Not to say what's below is right, but again - I don't hate it.

Floral pants (that everyone in this city is wearing, they are a major bargain) and a really dark navy/white striped tee is what I wore to work this week. Lots of people gave me the up-and-down, mostly startled by the down. Damn, these pants.

Wanting: Anything ACNE

What up jean skirt? I promise this time I won't pair black leggings and Uggs with it (I know you remember those days), but ACNE is really on their denim game and this torn skirt is on fire. It's also unavailable now.

Acne, a specialist in denim but has all around amazing pieces, is a designer I've recently started admiring. It will never love me back ($$$) but a girl can dream. And maybe one day wear. Here are a few pieces from their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Maroon swoon.

Wearing: Oreo outfit

The cream: a pleated ivory skirt, the cookies: black (p)leather pieces as bookends. This crinkled moto jacket (a fake leather that requires the perfect weather as to not sweat through the polyester) plus the high-waisted skirt are a classic combination. Just like that damn cookie.

Note the badass studded combat boots that I can't ever take off (a gift from my beau).

Studded combat boots: Zara (old, but these are cool too)

Penguins wearing

Penguins gotta wear too.

After an oil spill near New Zealand, a yarn shop named Skeinz knitted the oil soaked birds tiny sweaters to penguins in need. The sweaters helped prevent them from preening their own contaminated feathers. This is the story from MSNBC, and these are the photos I just had to share.

This first one is frumpin' it like me!

Wearing: Droopy crotch jeans

You read that right.

I give you the harem jeans, which are no manufacturing error people. With an elongated crotch and strange seams, this Zara pair has split from the herd of dull denim and succeeded in making jeans interesting again. Thank god.

The outfit continues with a white linen blazer, faux fur stole and metallic cap toe flats.

New home inspiration

Come May, which is coming quickly, I'll be giving up my dear apartment on the lake. No more sunrises on the lake's horizon, no more beach a mere block away. But, in the same breath, I am beyond thrilled to share a new abode with my main squeeze Chris.

Out with the old, in with the new, in with the finding-a-way-to-keep-but-restyle-everything. Some inspiration pics below, you'll see I go for the handsome look: clean black and white frames, oriental rugs against white, fur (gotta get that fur in), the coolest stool I've ever seen.

Wearing: Black bear

And the zeal for faux fur is exposed.

I call this vest my black bear. I picked it up for 5 dollars at an amazing vintage shop in Wicker Park called Vintage Underground. Sure it sheds, but so do I, thus me and the vest be friends. Again with the leather leggings, can't stop won't stop, denim jacket and nude flats. Roar.

Panting with prints

Can you even stand one more pair of printed pants?

I thought you could, so here are some darling examples. Stay tuned for my flower power later this week.

Wearing: Frumpy sweater

This chick digs big knits. People call them frumpy, but I call them comfortable, forgiving and perfect for a gray day. I paired my camel knit with tight leather pants (to unfrumpify), nude flats and a day time clutch.

The star of these photos really are the pink tulips in the background, hallelujah spring be springin'.

Wearing: Look at me, I'm sporty

Wait, what?

My boyfriend says the drop shoulders on this H&M coat resemble gorilla arms. He also walks two steps behind me when I wear it, but I digress.  It's letterman jacket inspired, just the right color combination, and all sorts of cool. I had my eye I on it for a while so when it was (severely) on sale I jumped for jacket joy.

Modern day mad woman

I swear I don't wear these pants every day.

But, Emma Arnold from super cool street style blog Très Awesome captured my workin' girl outfit for an article and I happened to be wearing them. Her article features modern day Mad Men from my agency, Leo Burnett, in spirit of Mad Men's new season premiere. Check out these photos, this article (which got picked up by Design Bureau!), and Très Awesome to see all the pretty people I work with .
