Wearing: Denim jumper

This jumper no doubt comes in a size 2T, the T as in toddler. When I wear it I feel playful, immature, and suddenly in need of a juice box.

One pieces are a must on these hot summer days (yesterday was over 100 degrees in Chicago). But, as I said before, the inevitable predicament always makes me chuckle: the instant nudity in the bathroom. Even funnier when it's a public bathroom. Ew.

Wearing: Large white shorts

Wearing layered whites (again), sorry I'm not sorry.

What I'm here to tell you about is the bottom half of my outfit: the shorts. They are L.E.I. (I know, right) and about three sizes too big. To the rescue is my trusty braided belt and the ability to roll the hell out of the hems. The largeness translates into a casual paper bag short, also might translate into a bloated look but hey, what do I care.

Then there's the lace top and who doesn't love a perfect lace top.

Lace top: Forever 21 (love this lacy piece)
White shorts: L.e.i. (these and these are adorable options)

Wearing: A Wild Pair

My shoe fairies at Bakers asked if I could review some of their new summer sandals and naturally I responded with a  "duh, yes/always/with pleasure". You all know how drunk I am on summer sandals so why not just get drunker.

The Bakers line, called Wild Pair, has some super wild styles but since my shoe game is a little more down to earth I gravitated towards the Elaine (I already own - and love - these). The Elaines are really unusual sandals and "unusual" typically means "expensive", which these are not. The patterned ribbon is ultra soft, so I can walk in them all day (blister free!). With an awesomely earthy color scheme, I wore them with a cool green cargo and a basic cape top. Is a cape considered basic?

Wearing: 100% polyester

I love a good vintage find and when it's made out of polyester it's even good-er.

This boxy muscle tee is one of my faves and it's the infamous mint green that everyone is raving about. My favorite part of this outfit, and unusually so, are the accessories. The tasseled clutch is, well, clutch. Stark white and a dangling tassel is what's up (cc: tassel post). The rock necklace is an oldie from H&M that magically goes with everything.

Clutch: Vintage (pretty woven white one)
Necklace: H&M (old, this one is so rad)

Summer wearing: Eyeball exclusive

Speaking of eyes, which I wasn't.

Another summer wearing observation: sunglasses are cooler than ever before. I'm eye-sexing the hell out of the winged glasses by Opening Ceremony (a la Man Repeller) and thinking the Asos cat eyes must be mine. The colored lenses are rocking my world, too. But what isn't these days.

Thoughts? Concerns? Lusts?

Wearing: A crown

As I write this I'm laughing at the thought of me, little old knotty haired me, wearing an actual crown. A toddler and tiara type crown. The more the merrier, rhinestones that is.

Good thing this kind of crown is a simple black line on a casual white tee. I'm clearly a fan of amusing graphic tees, so this falls right into that category. And by "fall" I mean "fits", there is no falling at pageants. I dressed it up with my silk pajama pants, ankle booties and a very aggressive top knot.

Crown tee: Topshop (really old, DIY with this one)
Silk pants: Forever 21
Booties: Bakers
Clutch: Zara (old, similar here)

Wearing: Delicate white

Chicago be hot, clothes be minimal. For a Saturday out and about, I wore Daisy Duke-ish jorts and a delicate white top.

The tank was a stellar thrift store find, but a little more expensive than I usually entertain. You see, any item over seven dollars must be carefully and thoroughly assessed, analyzed, pro'd and con'd. After the typical and somewhat self-torturous evaluation, I decided: Life can't won't go on as I know it without this very top.

Anyway. Hummina hummina on the high cut of the jorts right?

And finally, in an effort to have the least possible amount of clothes/hair/anything touching me on a 90 degree day, check out the modern low pony for us long-haired folks.

Wearing: Tiger tank and tutu

I'm so lucky I have a job that lets me wear tutus to work.

Guys, I don't work at a place that lets me wear tutus. I work in a relaxed advertising environment, yes, not as a dancer at Joffrey.

I wore this last weekend to lunch and I'm still not quite sure which piece got more looks: the tiger tank and its creepy green eyeballs or my full (and short) tutu. What's even more awkward is that when you stare at the tiger, it stares at you back. Muhaha.

Summer wearing: Sheer skirts

Observation #1 on Summer 2012: everyone's naked.

No, but really, people are wearing really sheer clothes and I'm really loving it. Nipples showing? No problem. See-through skirts? Okay.

Wearing: Summery dress and ankle cages

If this dress doesn't scream summer, nothing does. The pattern is pretty slash hilarious; it looks to be an 80's graphic of Chinese fans. Or butterfly wings. Your call.

The Bakers sandals (please note the sandal binge I'm currently on) resemble little ankle cages. Little tiny jail cells for my ankles.

This is pretty much how I summertime roll: dress, sandals, no accessories.
