Shoesday
Finally! Shoesday goes spring-time with a sandal trend I'm noticing: the minimalist two-strap flat, which works with pants or a sweet skirt. If you've got longer legs, go for the brights and color blocked styles. If you're on the shorter side, I recommend staying neutral so the ankle strap doesn't cut you short. There are lots of options out there right now...and all at a reasonable price point.

Wearing: The weekend
My weekend uniform you ask? Leggings (yes as pants, sorry Lani!), a casual tee and a cute coat. And flats of course because I can't just prance around in heels at the office let alone to go get fro-yo. The other key to a perfect weekend outfit is the bag. Not too big, not too small, so this one's just right: it fits my whole wallet, keys, and a lipstick (duh). Outside of its perfect size, this bag was a thrift store find that I thought nothing of until my aunt brought it to my attention it is a Paloma Picasso, who was a former jewelry designer for Tiffany's. Shwing!

Top: Thrifted (similar)
Flats: Old Navy

Bag: Paloma Picasso via thrift (love this bag as a weekend option)

Wearing: Leather peplum
It's leather week on The Wearist!
Eh not really. I'm trying to thread my posts this week with some sort of theme but really I'm just coincidentally loving leather. I borrowed this top from my mom as a potential option to Saturday night's party but I instead styled it for a more casual look: ripped boyfriend jeans, leopard wedges and a big slouchy clutch. I love the muscle-tee cut of the top with a feminine shape like peplum. The white leather badassness is just the cherry on top.

Comparative shopping
It's no secret I live for a deal. A cheap thrill. The hunt. Trends simply come and go too quickly to invest in every one of them. As I start to throw away last year's sandals, which I've worn to the ground, I begin to think about re-stocking. Nude sandals are always at the top of my list.
Is anyone not lusting after these damn Valentino studs? In pump form, flat form, even in clutch form - all of it is so pretty. And now, I'm crushing on the gladiators. At a steep $845, which competes with my rent (a roof over my head is much more stylish), I found a couple cheaper options. And ding ding ding, the winner is Forever 21 at a lovely $17.

Wearing: Leather tea-length skirt
Didn't really have a creative name for this outfit but as you can see, it just sort of speaks for itself. I saw this at my trusted local Crossroads and even though I had nowhere to wear it (at the time) I knew it was mine. If someone is wearing an almost-floor length leather skirt, it's me.
Alas, an invitation that only a skirt like this could present itself. The Numbered Days threw a super fun party celebrating up and coming local artists showcasing dance, art, music. And a photo booth! Who doesn't love a photo booth!
White tee, black pumps, red lips. Happy Monday.

Wearing: Green all over
I saw someone wearing this outfit on the street so I immediately scoured my closet when I got home for a similar look. I love finding inspiration through people watching. Everyone's got a beautiful point of view and this outfit is proof. Just two simple pieces that I never thought could be a look: mismatched monochromatic greens and leopard shoes (I'm having a moment with leopard by the way).

Coachella ella ella
So much crochet, so little time.
I do love perusing the street style after major music festivals so this time I was curious to see if we had moved past the flower crowns and maxi dresses at this year's Coachella. What I do see a lot of are cute white numbers (duh), light and airy fabrics, CROP TOPS, adorable headbands, the cutest two-piecer on Kate Bosworth.

Shoesday: Catty feet
Leopard shoes for spring just make sense to me right now. I love all forms - heels, flats, lace-ups, sandals - all of 'em! They serve as such a great neutral to every outfit.

Wearing: LWD
Kickin' off the week with bare legs, people! Sorry for 1. the unshaved legs (if you can tell) and 2. the translucent skin.
I'm all about sweet little white pieces lately so when I finally spotted this dress on sale, I had to have it. It's delicate but not scared-to-wear-it delicate and it's perfect for those nights where there's a little chill in the air. The flatforms I got on super clearance at H&M (the last season kind of clearance where the price is an odd number like $7.94 just to get them off shelves). They're sure to be a staple for summer.
Oh and say hello to my new favorite clutch, courtesy of Madewell in celebration of their Chicago store opening.

If it ain't studded...
I ain't interested.
Who doesn't love a good bedazzled clutch. They're all over the streets and for a girl that never touches a DIY project, this seems like a super simple move that can elevate any basic envelope clutch. I can't wait to break out my favorite minaudiere (seen here and here) this spring and summer.
