Wearing: A frock

By definition I think a frock is a dress, which this is certainly not, but with the oversized peplum and girly floral print I think of it as a frock. So frock the definition.

And happy frockin' Monday!

Flower power

After doing some online window shopping, which I do most nights while sipping wine or my favorite whiskey, I'm realizing flowers for spring is so yesterday. Finally we can spread our hippie wings with sweet floral prints for fall in dark, rich colors but also in light, delicate pieces like this Zara top. I'm a little over the floral pant but adore these sweet tops and dresses. So wake up and smell the roses. And then go shopping.

Olivia Palermo

Is it weird that I carry a photo of Olivia in my work notebook? My work friends will know what I'm talking about but I swear it's because I like her hair cut and want to bring it to the salon next time I go. Anyway, now that we're all uncomfortable, I love Olivia's daring pattern plays but ability to always stay classic. She's a layering queen - super inspirational for fall.

Wearing: Fall

Fall's out, sweaters out. I love this amber color, especially in the form of a chunky knit.  Paired with my favorite work shorts (seriously guys, do I wear these too much?), the sweater makes for a perfect transitional fall outfit on a day where the temperature can vary by 20 degrees.

Totes adorbs

I'm gravitating toward the classic tote these days. And while I typically keep my large bags for weekdays, I now like using a tote on the weekends to hold the outcomes of all the odds and ends I acquire on a Saturday. I personally have the Zara one but really want the straw one for next summer.

Shoesday

For when you're feeling thoughtful and don't want to leave a mess.

Wearing: Boyfriend apparel

I feel like Mondays are meant for looser clothes due to weekend bloat so today I resemble a boyfriend (not mine, but someone's) with a loose shirt and my favorite baggy jeans. I girled it up a bit with my metallic flats because let's hope to god no boyfriend is wearing those.

Sienna Miller

Aside from the perfect bone structure and darling smile, Sienna Miller's style is one for the books. She's boho chic (am I the only one sick of this phrase?) but with a classic spin. I love her bare eyes and red lips, her use of sweet prints, her love of layers. And with my daily goal to master the perfectly undone messy hair, there goes Sienna just nailin' it.

And I think I'll continue celebspiration Friday thing...it's an easy way to get the weekend started.

Wearing: Cutout boots

I feel like I've barely worn skirts this season and of course when the temperature hits 60 (50's in the mornings!) I decide sure, bare legs make a ton of sense right now. Anyway, onto the boots I've been raving about. They are my new favorite fall item and somewhat of a splurge since I bought them new and at full price (okay, at DSW's full price).

Shoesday

More like bootsday because tis the freakin' season.

I just bought these cool Steve Madden cutouts (and convinced my sister to get them too) but here are some more ideas to help you navigate the cut out trend. Because I know eventually you'll give in.

Wearing: Warby Parker

Finally! Mama got a new pair of glasses. I previously had Ray-Bans and they were heavy and dark and simply unwearable. So, I dipped my toe in the Warby Parker pool and now I just don't want to get out. This pair is the Preston in pearled tortoise and I opted for these instead of typical tortoise because I wanted something a little more fashion forward. The colors work well on my face and are a bit more versatile than traditional brown and gold.
